FOLIO is Africa’s first peer-reviewed publication of African architecture. It offers practitioners, academics and students across the continent and the African diaspora an opportunity to examine the work and research of African architects, designers, artists and urbanists interested in developing the next generation of ideas. The first edition, Pupae, was published in 2017. Volume 2, Noir Radical, was published in early 2019.
The GSA’s in-house publisher, GSA IMPRINTS, is dedicated to publishing and disseminating the work of the GSA's staff and students in a number of publications and outputs each year.
FOLIO: Journal of Contemporary African Architecture is the GSA's flagship publication. Under the stewardship of Editor-in-Chief, Prof Lesley Lokko, Volume 1: Pupae, was published in 2017. Joined by guest editors Prof Iain Low, Prof Caroline Wanjiku Kihato and Prof Mark Olweny, Volume 2: Noir Radical will be published in 2019.
