Take the next step in your architectural career, further your knowledge with a postgraduate degree.
People are key to the GSA’s growing success. Our part-time staff are drawn from practices across the Gauteng region and are complemented by full-time staff and international visiting professors and research fellows who combine teaching and practice in ground-breaking and innovative ways. Our staff travel regularly, giving talks and lectures/workshops across Africa and overseas, and examine at other schools of architecture both at home and abroad, ensuring that our work is both relevant and cutting-edge.
We’re delighted to welcome a number of new faces to the GSA in 2018. Thomas Chapman and Njabulo Phekani are Unit 11, replacing Stephen Hobbs and Sumayya Vally’s Unit 11 last year. Stephen is now one of our Critic Extraordinaires for 2018, and Sumayya joins Prof Lokko as Unit 12 Leader. We’re also delighted to welcome Denise Fouché, our Senior Ops Manager, and Jade Mokoena, our new Administration Officer. This year, our G-PLUS Courses see a whole raft of new faces: Nabeel Essa, Lauren Clark, Caryn Katz, Motshabi Tyelele and Prof Federico Freschi. Joining us in H & T is Melinda Silverman, whilst on the Design Units’ side, Patti Anahory, Muhammad Dawjee, Absolom Makhubu, Tova Lubinsky, Mxolisi Makhubo and Nico van Loggerenberg are all joining the GSA’s Usual Suspects for the first time.
