MPHETHI MOROJELE is founding member of MMA Design Studio, formerly MMA Architects, a Johannesburg-based, mid-sized award-winning practice. He completed his architecture degree at UCT and post-professional degree at the Bartlett School of Architecture in London and went on to teach at the School of Architecture Wits University. Mphethi has curated several exhibitions on South African architecture including at the Venice Biennale, the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and the 2010 Shanghai Expo, to name a few. His interest in contextually-rooted forms of socio-cultural and spatial expression, inspired by the transforming landscape of South Africa and of Africa, has seen his work and his thoughts widely disseminated to architectural audiences internationally.
